Best Places to Trek in Indian Himalayas And How To Prepare

Himalaya is famous around the whole around. Mostly because of having the highest peak mountain of earth named Mount Everest. Many people every year choose the highest trekking point in the Himalaya known as Everest Base Camp, which is very difficult and is known to be the dream of every trekker.

How to prepare:

Trekking places in Himalaya are very high in altitude and you need to prepare yourself accordingly. Aerobic training, strength conditioning, and proper trekking training are very important. Other than these, practice hiking in nearby places with a backpack and running 4km in 30 minutes. These things can help you along the way while facing different challenges in the trek. Trekking in Ladakh requires preparation of 2-3 months of practice.

Goecha La Trek:

This is one of the very well known treks of the Himalayas, it starts in Sikkim and the time of trek is 8 days. You can see both Mount Pandim and Kangchenjunga, from the first viewpoint in Dzongri.

The altitude of this trek is 4878m, 16000ft and Goecha La are also known as a base camp for trekking in southeast Kanchenjunga. Having mentally and physically prepared is very important while you trek the Himalayas.

Kailash Circuit:

This trek is one of the most difficult treks in the Himalaya. This trek includes a very beautiful and sacred mountain known as the symmetrical mountain. This mountain is the source of many well known giant rivers of India, including the Indus, Brahmaputra and many more. The Markha Valley:

The Markha valley trek is very well known for a glimpse of Tibetan culture along with the Markha river valley. This trek takes approx 7 to 8 days in total and the best and easiest way is to start from Ladakh.

The trek itself offers to cross Gandla, Kongmaru La and Stock La pass along with the natural beauty along with chances to see many wild animals including mountain mammals, ibex, blue sheep, and marmot. You can also explore Leh Ladakh and its beauty with this trek.

Gangotri Glacier Trek:

Most people have heard the name Ganga, the most sacred river in India. But not many can witness the starting point of this great river. This 6-day trip takes you to the heart of this river called Gangotri. In this 20km trek, you will find some mesmerizing natural scenes and beautiful peaks.

Chomolhari Trek:

Chomolhari is the 2nd tallest among all the other peaks in Bhutan. The base camp of Chomolhari is the ending point of this trek almost 5000m high. For many years a few numbers of outsiders were able to get permission to visit this beautiful place. Now the place is open for tourists but with some rules and restrictions. This place is a must-see while trekking in Ladakh.

Makalu Base Camp Trek:

This trek is very different from the other treks. Makalu base camp trek is a 16-day trek that requires sufficient organization and preparation. This trek is not for people with breathing problems, heart problems or any other health problem, because of the height of the peak. Makalu is considered to be the 5th tallest peak in the world. You can get the ultimate experience of trekking by this wild trek.
