Gateway to Middle East Oil and Gas Opportunities - Oman Petroleum & Energy Show

Posted by nilima shah on January 23rd, 2020

The Sultanate of Oman has been able to provide a stable political regime and a business-friendly environment resulting in new & big players entering Oman’s upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. Oman’s path to progress has been steady and now has emerged as a successful and biggest oil and natural gas producing country in the Middle East (not a member of OPEC).

The Ministry of Oil and Gas acts as the main coordinator between government and private players in Oman’s oil, gas and energy sectors, but the final approval on policy/investments rests with the Sultanate of Oman. Boasting modern infrastructure and latest technology, stable and growing economy, Oman has set high industry standards for operational/cost efficiency and innovation. Although not a member of OPEC, it works in alliance with other independent groups like Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) etc. and has always pursued an independent foreign policy. Oman has always maintained good relations with Arab neighbours, Iran and simultaneously with the United States.

All these factors have made Sultanate of Oman the biggest gateway to Middle East oil and gas opportunities. Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Oil & Gas of Oman, The Oman Petroleum & Energy Show is part of this initiative. OPES 2020 provides a unique business opportunity for oil, gas and energy stakeholders to meet and network with local and international audience. This event will showcase the latest oil & gas innovative technologies, equipment, products and services.

Termed as Sultanate of Oman’s national event, it was previously a biennial event but this time it has been combined to be part of a broader event to align the government's objectives of sustainable growth and expansion of the oil and gas sector. This event will include Oil and Gas West Asia (OGWA), Gas and LNG, Offshore and Marine, Stainless and Steel World Middle East, Digital Oil & Gas Zone.

OPES will be the biggest B2B event in the Sultanate of Oman with 500+ exhibitors from 30+ countries and approximately 13,000 trade visitors are expected to join this megaevent. This event will be held from March 9 to 11, 2020 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre and is being held under the patronage of the Sultanate of Oman.
