Symptoms and Treatment of Mouth Ulcers

Have you ever woken up and felt like you had an odd sore spot in your mouth? You try to feel it with your tongue and you wonder on earth it got there. Well, these mouth sores are called mouth ulcers or canker sores. Do not worry there is no need to panic they can be treated easily and they also usually go away on their own within 2 weeks.

Am I getting a mouth ulcer?

When there is something that is not right with your body, you can usually feel it. In the same way you can feel if you are getting a mouth ulcer. Some of the most common symptoms include

  • Sores that hurt on the mouths lining

  • Irritation of sores because of eating any hot or spicy food.

What Can I Use To Treat Them?

  • Avoiding any sour and spicy food

  • Rinsing your mouth with warm and salty water.

  • Making sure your mouth is clean at all times

  • Use of antiseptic gels

  • Honey

This is one of the best ways that you can make the canker sore go away. You need to mix raw honey with turmeric and apply it on the affected area. Do this after every few hours.

  • Coconut Oil

There are several health benefits that come with using Coconut oil. Furthermore, in coconut oil, one can find components that help reduce inflammation. Therefore, using it on the canker sore can help as well. To apply, use cotton wool and apply directly on the affected area. For best results, do this before bedtime.

  • Garlic

Lastly, you can also use garlic. This is also very effective when it comes to making the pain go away. To apply, you need to crush a few garlic cloves and apply on the affected area. Leave it for a few minutes and then rinse your mouth after 30 minutes.
