In the UK, in Potters Bar and Waltham Abbey or any other area, you cannot choose just anyone to give you driving lessons.  The only ones permitted to give driving lessons Potters Bar and driving lessons Waltham Abbey are the Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) and the other instructors that are licensed under training.  These 2 types of instructors are given 2 types of badges that should be displayed in tuition cars.  They are a green, octagonal badge for the fully qualified and approved driving instructor, and a pink, triangular one for the licensed under training.

The DSA (Drivers Standards Agency) has a system that monitors the performance of a driving instructor. An instructor is given a Grade 4 if his standard is satisfactory, a Grade 5 if it is good overall, and a Grade 6 if his standard is the highest.  It is not a cheap thing to take driving lessons Waltham Abbey, or driving lessons Potters Bar, so choosing your instructor carefully always makes sense.  It is a good thing to shop around and do the researches, find them through recommendations, forums, and make comparisons of even 2 or 3 instructors in the areas.

Before you can take driving lessons Potters Bar or driving lessons Waltham Abbey in the UK, you must be 17 years of age, and you need a valid license.  In many cases this license is the UK provisional license in either the old or the new style.  It can also be an international license or a foreign driver’s license that permits you to drive in the UK for 12 months.

Driving schools in the UK have online booking system that you can use if you want to book for driving lessons, or to organise your ‘trial’ lesson.  You only need to enter your postal code for your location, choose the starting number of hours, the date and time you would like to start.  An then you pay using a credit or debit card.  The driving school administration will then assign the instructor that they think is most suitable to you.  He is to contact you to confirm the time of your first lesson. You can also book using your telephone line.

If, after your start lesson, you feel that you do not like your instructor, it is always possible to find a new one.  What is important is that you have a smooth instruction-student relationship with whoever is giving you driving lessons Potters Bar or driving lessons Waltham Abbey.

When you are ready to take the driving tests, you should book it in advance, say 8, 10 or 12 months before.  Taking the test should be planned very well, so you will not leave all your trainings immediately or you don’t become overloaded at a very early time.  Driving schools have a record of your progress, the Drivers’ Record Cards.  You should be given a copy of this record so you can show your family how you are learning, and what you still need to learn to make sure you are ready on the day of the test.
