To have your very own swimming pool at home is an experience in itself and ensuring safety and absolute protection around it could be a little tricky. It is a legal requirement in Australia to have a fence that sticks to the specifications set by the government, around your pool. Glass fencing provides a seamless, clean look to your backyard and at the same time provide a safe surrounding while creating a fantastic aesthetic. There are mainly two types of glass pool fencing that is, frameless and semi-frameless. High quality 12mm tempered glasses are used for frameless pool fencing and are sourced for durability and easy maintenance.

Installing glass pool fences

Before you start to make sure you check the site attachment points, choose the kind of fence that will go with your entire home or backyard and lastly, all your tools and components and make sure your posts are 400x400x400mm foot and 100mm thick.

These are the following steps to install a glass pool fencing:

  • Take flat drivers and put them in paving points. Apply force to the handles and lift them where it’s located. And after removing it, create an opening. Lift all pavers until footing site uncovers.
  • Then dig around 400x400mm trenchers with centerlines identical to the centerline of your fence.
  • Combine sand, clump, of cement and mix it well. Fill the dug-out trenches and let it dry, then replace the pavers on the wet mortar mix.
  • At the area of mini-posts, screw the baste plates, use each of the mini-posts to determine the position of the hole by removing cover plates. The position of the posts should be 200mm from the border of the glass. It is helpful to line them up before the drilling process.
  • After drilling, make sure to anchor the posts by applying a chemical anchor into the holes then putting anchor studs. Ensure leaves 10mm to stand out right above the base plate then leave it for an hour then tighten the studs. Ensure stability of the mini post, then slip on base cap for each mini-post. Secure brackets on your end with sturdy screws.
  • Lift the glass panels and fit them into the mini-posts, then firmly secure the panels.
  • Lastly, release the panels and attach the clasp at the poolside.

Maintaining glass pool fences

It is not very tough to maintain a glass pool fencing as it doesn’t require in-depth cleaning, you can clean it how you clean other glass objects at home, but make sure to check the panels, tighten the loose studs and base caps of the mini-posts now and then and you’re alright.
