How do I update my NETGEAR router?

Every time there is an update you will receive an update in the firmware.

Netgear wireless router update is very easy to do within very less time. For an update and the installation, you need to follow the steps below.

1. After connecting the devices with Ethernet cable, for the initial step, you need you to open the browser and go to the NETGEAR Support.
2. Now, you need to enter your router’s model number or product number.
3. After that, click on the “Download”.
4. Now, select the firmware version and click on “Download”.
5. There might be the possibility to unzip the file if it's zipped.
6. Now, you need to enter the default web address and the login page will show up.
7. Use the admin username and password as required on the login page.
8. When login is done successfully, select “ADVANCED” and then “Setting” and then “Administration”.
9. Then, select the “Firmware Update” or “Router Update”.
10. Next, after clicking “Choose File” or “Browse” select the firmware file when you are done locating it.
11. Now, click on the “Upload” button.
12. Now, don’t do anything until it finishes restarting.
13. After that, you are done with updating your router.
