Konark Bureau: Four BJD candidates have been elected to the Rajya Sabha. BJD candidates have been elected because the opposition Congress and BJP have not fielded candidates. While the BJP said it did not have a number, the Congress did not field a candidate.
Four BJP candidates have been elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed before the election. The four BJD candidates are Subhas Singh, Muna Khan, Sujit Kumar and Mamata Mahant. The Returning Officer has announced the names of four people.

Eight BJD candidates have filed nomination papers for the four vacant Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha. Opposition parties, including the Congress and the BJP, have not fielded candidates since the last day. Opposition leader Pradeep Naik said the party had decided not to field candidates as the BJP did not have the required number. However, with the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers today, the Returning Officer announced the names of four BJP candidates.

Voting will take place on March 29 for 55 seats in 19 states, including four vacant Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha. However, elections will not be held for the Odisha constituency after four candidates from Odisha have been elected unopposed.
