Trends in boutique fashion

Posted by AmandaTom on June 17th, 2013

The term "boutique" originates from France and it means "shop". "Boutique" refers to a small location, where mostly unique items are sold. However, today, by "boutique" people understand a small shop, selling lovely items, not necessarily unique, usually clothes and jewelry. Because boutiques have gained an immense popularity over the past few years, we can truly say that they have generated what is called today "boutique fashion".

In a boutique, people may find anything from dresses, sweaters, tops, skirts, to shoes, boots, and accessories. These are different from those found in other stores, in that they are more radiant and vibrant. Probably this is the reason for which they manage to become trendsetters. Dresses are more glamorous, sweaters, more comfortable, tops, sexier, skirts, featuring much more interesting designs, and accessories, more elegant.

Speaking of dresses, those found in boutiques are trendier than those found in large commercial centers, that focus on selling designer outfits. Trendy dresses that are sold in boutiques may not be created by famous designers, but they are certainly thought and manufactured by people who have artistic skills, so by purchasing trendy dresses from boutique owners you will never go wrong.

If glamour is the trend that characterizes boutique dresses, color is the one characterizing boutique sweaters. The most appreciated materials for creating sweaters remain cotton and polyester, and the trend that has set in from the beginning of this year is represented by the combination of shawls and cardigans. Not any shawl can be combined with a sweater, but only multicolored comforters, made from wool.

The trends regarding tops refer to wearing fashionable knitted tops. Tunics are popular this year too, borrowing something from the sweaters mentioned earlier, which is the interesting combination of a crochet pattern with a soft and welcoming top. At the same time, stripes and dots have made a comeback, reminding us of the 80s fashion.

Skirts are all about lace or lace-related materials. Lace has an elegant texture, being appropriate for women who want to stand out. Besides lace, combinations of rayon and polyester remain popular, but as long as they are used to create chevron outfits. Although the chevron pattern is mostly used by the military, it seems that this year, the civilians like it as well.

As far as the shoes are concerned, the trend is to wear shoes created from man-made materials. Shoe manufacturers want to give an example and prefer to use and reuse artificial materials, instead of natural ones, in order to protect nature and generate lower carbon dioxide emissions. The most popular color of shoes this year seems to be brown.

Finally, those interested in trendy accessories, should find out that in stores featuring boutique fashion, one can purchase tights, belts, colored necklaces, frayed edge scarves, and rectangular clutches. For an impressive look, these accessories need to be carefully combined with boutique clothes, otherwise the effect would not be the desired one.
