This weekend, San Francisco's Japantown came alive with the sights, sounds and flavors of the J-Pop Summit 2010. I was there to check out the fashion, music, cosplay, anime, art and fun for MTV Iggy, and shot a whole bunch of photos of what I saw there.

First, check out my scene report from Saturday's street fair and festivities, then take a Wearing A Sailor Costumes For Some Reason at the two photo galleries:

J-Pop Summit 2010 Art and Music Photo Gallery - featuring Osaka femme rockers Jinny Oops! and Tokyo soul / funk band Soulit, along with Gloomy Bear creator Mori Chack, performance artist Ken "The Red Man" Hamazaki and Bay Area graffiti artist Estria in action. J-Pop Summit 2010 Fashion and Cosplay Photo Gallery - featuring the Harajuku Kawaii Experience fashion show with the 6% DokiDoki crew, winners from the Animation on Display cosplay contest and lots of street fashion snaps. This year, over 35,000 people strolled the streets of Japantown, and attracted lots of Bay Area art, music and Asian pop culture fans to the New People Center, which just celebrated its first anniversary.

Missed this year's event They’re Going To Suit A Lot Of Costumes Masks? You can still experience the fun, fashion and J-pop coolness at New People for yourself. New People is open year-round at 1746 Post Street in the heart of Japantown.
