Portugal is a country that draws a lot of new residents. Ex-pats move to Portugal after living in other countries for most of their lives because they have fallen in love with the country. People enjoy the culture, the weather, and the food when they visit. After visiting Portugal, people sometimes find it difficult to leave.

One of the reasons people decide to move to Portugal is the weather. The weather is pretty moderate without extreme changes in heat or cold for the most part. The northwest part of Portugal has pretty mild winters with a good deal of rainfall and the summers are short. The northeast part of Portugal has longer winters and the summers are hot. Snow does fall in the northern part of Portugal but it doesn’t really stay on the ground for very long. This is appealing to people who live in countries with extremely long,cold winters!

Another thing that draws people to move to Portugal is the culture. The culture of Portugal comes from the different civilizations that have lived in the country over the centuries. All the different societies that have lived in the country have left a permanent mark on the history and culture of Portugal.

The Portuguese have many cultural activities that they participate in. They appreciate art, drama, dance, and music. They also have a love of folklore. One thing is for sure, people love being able to experience the mix of cultural experiences that are unique to Portugal.

The food of Portugal is amazing. There are different styles of foods in different regions of Portugal. Portuguese food includes seafood, fresh fish, meat, and dried and salted cod. Cozido a Portuguesa is a famous stew made in Portugal that you must try if you visit the country. A Brazilian spice called peri-peri is used widely in Portugal to flavour shrimp and chicken. Goan curry is also widely used to flavour broths and a variety of dishes. Although Portuguese food is not known about widely around the world, when people visit the country, they often fall in love with it.
