What can an animation studio do?

Creating your own character and giving it life is an immersive experience; you start with a few simple forms to establish a direction, and then, by adding various features and details, you finally get to a complex character with its own personality. It all starts with a sketch, in an animation studio. Once the drawing is done, you can move on to the digital creation process, the preparation of the character for animation and animation itself. Nowadays a 3D animation studio is preferred for more realistic results. If we think about the quality and the realism acquired today by using computer generated graphics, it is hard to imagine that this area did not exist 30 years ago.

The animation of the characters is a complex process, depending on the character type (for example, a bully character, an innocent tiny character type or a  goofy character the etc.) and it means a lot of things, such as: timing and spacing, setting the pace, setting a trajectory (action path), dialogues (lip sync), sync sound (sound mapping), special effects involving certain sets (smoke effect, fire effect, rain, etc.), camera movements. All of this comes after a plan, a well established plan ever since the beginning, called scenario. In its turn, the scenario is incorporated in the storyboard.

3D computer graphics (compared to 2D computer graphics) are images that use a three-dimensional representation of geometric data stored in the computer in order to perform calculations and render 2D final images. The process of creating 3D computer graphics in a 3D animation studio can be sequentially divided into three basic phases: 3D modeling, which describes the composition of the shape of an object, layout and animation, which describe the motion and placement of objects in a scene, and 3D rendering, which produces an image of an object.

The term “rendering” refers to the process of acquisition of digital information (volume, textures, lights etc.) which is introduced into a graphical environment for 3D modeling, converting them into final images which are visible on the screen or on paper. The term has a broader meaning, meaning: to send someone else, to reproduce, to cause, to become. In this regard, the rendering process produces images revealing the reality of the concepts presented. Together with the evolution of advanced imaging technologies, the word “rendering” has become a more common term in the language of designers. In architecture, photorealistic images generated by 3D models are used to represent future constructions in a comprehensive manner to beneficiaries.

A good digital production company experienced in 3D (3D modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering and animation) specializes in photorealistic architectural visualization, interior / exterior design (residential and commercial), design and execution of exhibition stands, commercials, animated films, video games, product design.

The work of an animation studio is very important if you think of the great number of movies, for example, that need special effects and complex visual images. A 3D animation studio is even more appreciated, as it can create more real images, resembling the reality surrounding us.
