Usability testing is an important tool for any website. This test enables users to interact better with the website and get the information about the product or service that they are looking for. With the popularity of smartphones and tablets, customers now expect companies to provide websites that are designed for their smartphones. There is a much greater need to convert a desktop website to a mobile website, more so than just shrinking the screen display, with each device having specifications and formats. The difference between a desktop and mobile website is mobile websites have far fewer chances of being rejected, and so the challenges are greater for the architect and developer.

Usability testing helps in determining how actual users perceive the mobile websites, and because each user has a different perspective it is recommended that the test is done on 6 or more people, so as to learn the mindset of the uers.

Tips on what to include in the usability testing of mobile web sites:

Finger pointing tracking: this trick is useful as it watches someone use the website by asking the individual to utilize his/her finger to point at what they are looking while they navigate through the website.

Recording video: this method involves setting up a camera to see what a person is looking at while he is browsing the website, since the person does not know he is being looked at, the results are more or less accurate.

Assigning tasks: This is done by specifying a task that meets the goal of the site, the most difficult part of the website is not helping the user in navigating through the site.

After the examination is complete the results are analyzed and then compiled into an account, this report contains actionable recommendations for fixing the problems that were noticed while conducting the test on the users. To improve the overall experience of the users, it is assumed that the tests show accurate results, and there is no disagreement. Go online and look for companies that provide research solutions and assistance in making your mobile website experience an enjoyable one for your users and for potential users.  With more and more users moving to smartphones everything is being done on mobile devices - from ordering stuff online, to paying bills and watching movies. Making your mobile website attractive and user friendly is crucial to increasing website traffic and in turn increasing sales and the public face of the company. Have you tried usability testing for your mobile website yet?
