Skin barrier is a layer that protects the skins internal tissues from external pollutants and harmful micro particles. It is essential to do the Skin barrier repair measures for healthy skin but first know its reasons. If your skin's upper layer is compromised, it can cause many issues that lead to damaged skin. We have listed out a few reasons that cause damage to your skin barrier:

1. Pollution: The central point in today's world for most problems is pollution. It has disrupted many cycles and causes a lot of damage to your skin tissues, and harms the skin barrier. It is advised to avoid outdoor activities as much as possible. Even if it is necessary, try covering your face and cleaning it afterwards.

2. Over washing: To clean the skin, many people over wash the skin. Washing your skin 2-3 times a day is considered normal. But more than that can break the tissues and cause problems which were not even there in the first place.

3. Frequent exfoliation: The upper layer of our skin is delicate, which can be treated with even slight harshness. The physical exfoliators are harsh on our skin, which leads to damage in the skin tissue. It is advised to use gentle exfoliators to protect the skin layer. You can also opt for chemical exfoliators, which are prevalent nowadays. These are gentle on your skin and are more effective than physical exfoliators. But its use as well should be kept to limit.

4. Lack of moisture: Avoiding moistening your skin after washing can cause loss of elasticity to your skin. This leads to the breakage of skin tissues. We hear this often that people with oily skin avoid moisturizer because this gives them an oily look. But it is a total myth. Every skin type needs moisturization. You can use the moisturizer, which is light on your skin and will not clog pores.

5. Wrong skincare products: You have to do thorough research before buying a skincare product. Many skincare products are great and show excellent results, but they might not be the right choice for your skin type. It is good that you observe your skin issues and use products that fulfill the skin's needs.

6. Sleep cycle: We do not call it beauty sleep for no reason. Getting enough sleep is as essential for your skin as t is for your physical health. Due to its lack, your skin barrier can be damaged, and even face water loss. This can take away the glow of the skin. Even a single day of disturbed sleep cycle shows results instantly on your skin. Try getting at least a minimum amount of sleep, which assures proper rest to it.

Protecting the skin barrier is an essential part of your skincare routine. With the above guideline, it will be easy for you to maintain it in your practice.
