Kitchens are the centre of any home, and its own layout matters a lot. So, here we are going to have a look at some must-haves that are both practical for your own kitchen, as well as necessary to make your work easy and fun.

Unlike most, Indian kitchens tend to see a few heavy-duty cooking. There's frying, adding a thousand spices, and also a lot more on the very top of large amounts of food prepared, as most live in joint families. Therefore, it comes as no surprise when we see L shaped modular kitchens in Greater Noida, and so on give a great taste to getting a durable countertop. Largely people go for quartz and granite as countertop materials. Additionally, there are households that favour solid surfaces, such as Corian. For the hardcore counter area, you will require a material that is non-porous, hardy, does not stain easily, can stand up to some decent quantity of wear and tear, and isn't higher maintenance.

An Independent Workstation

We're talking about joint families or massive families. With more amount of food, it's a good thing that Indian kitchens usually see more than one person helping out with all the kitchen work. And this work doesn't only involve cooking. There are pre-cooking preparation, washing and drying utensils, Maintaining them into their proper areas, cleaning the countertop, and much more. While having a large kitchen or maybe a kitchen island could resolve the majority of these problems, not everybody can afford the perfect solution. So, at least wash, peel, cut, and/or mash vegetables, combine ingredients, and this type of prep space could do the trick. An independent workstation can serve as the ideal solution from the less-than-ideal scenarios we have normally have in houses.

Didn't we mention spices only a little while ago? And the term we used was million', right? While that's, in reality, an exaggeration, that the number of spices which are tempered to create a delicious Indian dish can make you sneeze, a little! This makes venting go right on the peak of the list of things to get for your Indian kitchen. Chimneys were not as common a few years back; but boy are we glad that lots of modular kitchens manufacturers in Delhi etc., are becoming increasingly more aware of the advantages of appropriate ventilation. Also, don't forget that having well-placed window levels to natural ventilation, which can be an awesome way to encourage using a smokeless kitchen.

In addition to these, some of the additional things that kitchens in India do nicely with are -- heavy cabinets for huge pots and pans, double bowl sinks to deliver some simplicity to washing utensils, and so on. When you move to a new home or intend to redo your current kitchen, keep these points in mind to have a readily manageable kitchen hand!
