Key Aspects of Diabetes Treatment in Ayurveda

Excessive intake of food with milk and milk products, high fat content, and consumption of alcohol and over zeal towards salt, sugar, and sourness as well as irregular food habits, high tension, and irregular defecation would increase the level of fat and phlegm in the body.

Gradually, perishing the beta cells in the pancreas the body would fail to produce adequate insulin. According to Ayurveda, diabetes is related to vital parts such as kidney, heart, and brain as well. Thus, the number of people using blood sugar ayurvedic medicine is increasing to help manage their condition.

In some studies, plant based therapies have shown significant anti-diabetic properties which include bilberry extract, aloe vera, bitter melon, fenugreek, cinnamon, ginger. The best vegetable for treating diabetes is bitter gourd. With the drinking of at least one tablespoon of bitter gourd juice daily, diabetes patients will find reduction of blood sugar levels in urine and blood.

Apart from bitter gourd juice, consumption of a tablespoon of Indian gooseberry juice mixed with a cup of fresh bitter gourd also helps the pancreas to secrete insulin. This juice has to be taken daily for two months for better results. Another ayurvedic remedy for diabetes cure includes drinking a glass of water with ten neem leaves, ten tulsi leaves and 10 bel leaves early in the morning on empty stomach. People suffering from diabetes could also add one cup of water into a copper vessel at night and drink this water in the morning.

As compared, to other diseases diabetes in one such disease which can be aggravated with improper diet. The cornerstone of managing diabetes is diet planning. People with diabetes have to avoid sugar in any form such as potato, rice, cereals, bananas and other fruits which contains high percentage of sugar content. There is a need to include at least one bitter dish in the meal. Make sure that diabetes patients take plenty of green leafy vegetables, soy, black gram, and fish in their diet.

Vegetables such as string beans, Bitter Gourd, onion, cucumber, and garlic, fruits such as Jambul Fruit, Indian Gooseberry, and Grapes and grains like black gram and Bengal gram should be included in the diet. Herbs and raw vegetables play a crucial role in enhancing insulin production and stimulating pancreas. Apart from above mentioned diet plan people with diabetes must exercise regularly. There is diabetes treatment in Ayurveda, but you will have to be totally disciplined towards it.
