The Best Weed Movies of All Time

Weed movies have made a market of their own beginning in the 1970s. Over time the 1978 pot-loving movie Up in Smoke has transitioned from a weeded-up memory to one of classic weed movies.

As marijuana has become more mainstream and accepted, more brainless weed comedies have hit the scene. Get your munchies ready and watch through these all-time best movies.

Friday (1995)

Directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Ice Cube, Chris Tucker, Nia Long, Tom Lister Jr., John Witherspoon. The best line of this movie – I know very well that you do not smoke weed, but today I will make you high, because it is Friday and you have no job and also you have got no shit to do. Friday is about the characters in the neighborhood: crackhead Ezal, trifling-ass Pastor Clever or legendary bully Deebo.

Dude, Where's My Car? (2000)

One of the best weed movies directed by Danny Leiner and starring Marla Sokoloff, Jennifer Garner, Kristy Swanson, Seann William Scott and Ashton Kutcher. The best line – Just wait for a second, let us recap. My car was lost last night, a transsexual stripper gave us some stolen money and now some space nerds want us to look for something that we could not even pronounce. This movie is less funny, stoner forefather to the Hangover. Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott lose Kutcher’s car and have the weirdest tattoos while tripping out during their wild night. The movie portrays that drugs can make you do dumb shit as well as make dumber movies.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)

We are not sure if director Kevin Smith’s feature-length flick about two malingerer friends is any good as every time people watches it, it was through a fog of some premium cannabis. Although, the plot is barely strung together, it is a must watch just for Ben Affleck’s role. The movie features Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Ben Affleck, Shannon Elizabeth, Eliza Dushku, Ali Larter, Will Ferrell, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, Chris Rock and Jason Lee. The punch line of the movie – No, you fail to understand me, Prince Valiant. I mean to say that if you were a sheep, would you like to fuck a sheep, if you were another sheep.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas (2011)

Directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson with casts John Cho, Kal Penn, Neil Patrick Harris, Danneel Harris, Paula Garcés, Danny Trejo, Amir Blumenfeld, and Thomas Lennon. The quirkiest line - I shot in the face of Santa Claus, he is real, believe me and I shot him in the face. Do you know the cleverest way for Harold& Kumar franchise creators, and screenwriters, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg to marry weed with Yuletide cheer? By having Santa Claus blessing the fellas with a blunt the size of a Shake Weight. It is that kind of reckless wit that makes A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas the best freaking comedy in years, apart from the ridiculously hilarious usages of 3D technology.
