An introduction to Enterprise Collaboration Service

Enterprises have long known how important communications are in business. Over the past 10 years, there has been a rapid growth in the use of mobile phones, mobile device management (MDI), electronic documents (E-ds), video conferencing (VRC), desktop computing with screen sharing, and more Internet usage is increasing rapidly, along with the number of companies using their company email system (mails, documents, attachments). All this is adding up to a significant increase in the amount of time and effort spent communicating across distances and in developing and deploying business communication systems to their respective clients/customers. By using enterprise collaboration services, an organization can reduce the time and cost associated with establishing internal networks, emails, collaboration tools, etc., which will improve customer/client satisfaction. This is one of the key benefits to be derived from the use of a cloud computing platform.

The ability to utilize existing tools and data resources in the Cloud to deliver new value is another of the key benefits to be derived. Real-time tools such as instant Messaging, document collaboration, sharing between devices, multi-media capabilities, web collaboration tools, etc. are all readily available. There are also several other benefits such as the ease of managing information via the Web while moving files and contacts from a company server to the Cloud. This makes it easier to take advantage of several of the previously mentioned business process improvements.
