Despite of sickness of walking away following a ball after hitting a shot, golf is an interesting game.

Golf is an outdoor ball sport game, in which golfers make use of different kinds of clubs to strike a ball into the sequence of the holes. The expertise counts on the use of least hits to enter the ball into more holes. Golf, like all other games, follows the strict rules that must be followed by the golfers.

Golf Course

A golf course contains of the a particular pattern of holes, each with a teeing-ground that is set off by two pointers showing the limits of the permissible tee area, fairway, rough and other hazards, and the putting green surrounded by the border with the pin (normally a flagstick) and cup. There are 18 holes but sometimes they are 9 which mean to play twice to make a round of 18. The grass level in the ground varies at different places in order to enhance the complexity of a player. Many holes are designed with a direct line-of-sight from the teeing area to the green; some holes may bend either to the left or to the right. This is usually called a "dogleg", in reference to a dog's knee. A hole which angles leftward is known as “dogleg left” and which angles right is known as “dogleg right”.

Penalties

Penalty is also an important part of the golf. They take place in different situations like a penalty is counted towards a player on extra swings at the ball. Strokes are added for rule infractions or for hitting one's ball into an unplayable situation.

A penalty occurs if a player hits a ball out of the boundaries. A lost ball is also counted as penalty.

A one-stroke penalty is assessed if a player's equipment causes the ball to move or the removal of a loose impediment causes the ball to move (Rule 18–2). If a golfer makes a stroke at the wrong ball (Rule 19–2) or hits a fellow golfer's ball with a putt (Rule 19–5), the player incurs a two-stroke penalty. Most rule infractions lead to stroke penalties but also can lead to disqualification. Disqualification could be from cheating, signing for a lower score, or from rule infractions that lead to improper play.

Golf Putting Guide:

  • Reading golf green does not mean you have to look at the cup from all angles lying flat like the picture shown !
  • The putting speed of the ball should be strong enough go at most one club beyond the hole – if you miss.
  • Your putting grip and stance are the most important things to ensure the clubface is presented flat to the ball.
  • Use a short putting stroke with even distance before and after contact.
  • The angle between you upper arm and elbow should be less than 135 degrees, in your address position.
