Why Are So Many Church People Poor?

Poverty! Can anyone who has really been poor know what poverty is? I really doubt it. How can anyone who enjoys three "square" meals a day explain the phenomenon? Perhaps one will be able to grasp the real meaning of poverty when one struggles real hard to have a miserable meal in twenty-four hours. Poverty and hunger are cousins; simply because the former is tied to the latter.

Thirdly, if you suffered any form of deprivation in your childhood, either emotional or physical, you will have underlying beliefs that you do not deserve the good things in life, and this equates to poverty consciousness. If you find yourself countering every wish with "That will not happen for me", there is a good chance that you need to work on deserving to have abundance in your life.

Joseph was my neighbor during our school years. I observed his life crumble to pieces simply because where he lived, He lived in a SEPOTO (home with a BAR in it). Students stepping in clumps of horse droppings disrupts my class and I will not tolerate disruptions when lecturing on a subject as serious as poverty. If any of you are sicken by horse dropping you may move you seat/bucket to the back of the room. Poverty must be conquered from the inside out. Abundance cannot get to those who are repelling it with fearful thoughts of worry and doubt. Opposite thoughts and beliefs repel each other. Trying to overcome illness when you believe you'll always be sick won't bring health. Trying to become prosperous and successful, while thinking, talking, and predicting poverty won't bring prosperity. We attract prosperity by first having a prosperous mental attitude.

Exactly what is a Poverty mindset? My opinion is that it is having a mindset that is opposite of abundance. This is actually abundance in any area. According to my lexicon, poverty is the state of being poor, while the environment is the condition that affects mainly, the behavior and development of something. For instance, if you are putting on a suit, or a complete traditional attire of any kind, you will naturally look rotund in your dress, you may neither understand what poverty entails, nor can you have a true feeling of poverty.
