Enhance the Beauty of Your Bath Area with Wet Room Shower Trays

Shower trays may not be the most glamorous topic of conversation to have with friends, but it is definitely something you should discuss with your bathroom or home designer. Whether you are remodelling your bath and pamper area or building an entirely new bathroom, it is important to know all your design options so you can maximize the given space, increase function, and create a room that is timelessly stylish.

The size and shape of the shower tray you need largely depends upon the space that is available to you. If you want an enclosed bath, but also want to maximise your bathroom space, a corner unit is a good choice. Shower trays that are pentagonal in size as well as quadrant-style trays are available for these kinds of wet rooms. Pentagonal trays take up the least amount of floor space as they can fit perfectly into a corner. Quadrant trays on the other hand, are less obtrusive as they have two straight edges of the corner and a curved front instead of angular corners. The curved front also creates more showering space, compared to more restrictive pentagonal trays.

If space isn't an issue, rectangular and square shower trays are also available, ideal for those who prefer more spacious wet rooms. Instead of restricting the shower area in one corner, these types of shower trays allow wet rooms to stand as a centrepiece or placed in alcoves and recesses.

The material to use is also an important consideration. There are stone resin shower trays as well as acrylic shower trays sold by well known suppliers of designer baths and accessories. If you want the best quality bath and home fittings, best find a supplier that offers contemporary style designs and one that specialises in luxury baths, so you can have the dream bathroom suite you've always wanted.

Stone resin shower trays have excellent anti-slip properties, as they are made out of a mixture of crushed stone, resin based glue, and a gel coating, creating a raised textured surface. Acrylic trays on the other hand, are easier to install and maintain. Slimline shower trays are also worth considering, if you want a minimalist design. These trays create a strong wet room base (often made out of stone resin), while the smooth acrylic finish gives slimline trays a very stylish look.
