The original slogan of ‘empowering people to save lives since 1986’ has been replaced by ‘Saving Lives Made Simple’, which we believe better captures the philosophy of Emcare and its instructors. We believe that making the training as simple as possible means that when skills are required, there is less to remember for individuals that do not resuscitate routinely and need skills beyond traditional First Aid courses. The Emcare team are all experienced health care professionals who practice clinically what they teach. We are passionate about what we do - saving lives through quality education and clinical practice. We think that’s not a bad way to spend our day! We only employ professional health care staff (Doctors, Nurses, Ambulance Officers, Paramedics and Intensive Care Paramedics) all of whom are experts in their field and have up to date, hands on clinical experience.

Are your training providers clinical professionals who practice what they teach?

Emcare is currently owned by David Anderson and Geoff Sim. Emcare is a family business; our Administration Manager Yvette Baker is Geoffs partner, and our part-time Administration Assistant Morgan Baker is Yvettes daughter. Our focus is not only on cardiac arrest. We also teach the management of medical emergencies, and teach simple processes for managing these. Although education is the primary objective for Emcare, we also act as consultants to individuals and practitioners in the provision of emergency care and as on-sellers for pre hospital emergency equipment. We specialise in customising courses to better suit our customer needs, and we offer a choice of payment options including discounts for large groups. Feel free to ask us about running a course in your area of work, or developing a course to suit your specific requirements. All standards taught by Emcare reflect currently accepted New Zealand Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
