Just exercising daily would not make you healthy. You need to compliment exercising with a balanced diet which would make your life healthier. According to studies conducted by experts, more than 80% of severe diseases including cardiac arrest and strokes can be prevented by adapting healthy eating habits.

A good and healthy diet would help you:

  • maintain physical functionalities of body

  • promote optimal body weight

  • prevents from chronic diseases

  • support your daily routine

  • repair cellular damage and much more.

The good diet is beneficial in countless ways. Having a balanced diet does not only maintain physical health but also boosts our immunity. According to researchers, a person who eats healthy is less likely to show aggressive behavior or frustration in comparison to one who is having an imbalanced or unhealthy diet. Moreover, an appropriate diet improves concentration and enhances your ability to work well at office or school.

Now the question arises “what makes up a healthy diet?” Well, intake of a good diet is absolutely not about reducing food items. It is actually about consumption of food items in the right amounts to complete the requirements of your body. Ensuring a balance of all the nutrients in your diet is the requirement. While preparing a good diet one must include fruits and vegetables to fulfil our body’s requirement of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats and proteins, whole-grain food and legumes, eggs and other non-veg items for proteins. Also, enough fluid is necessary to keep you hydrated.

Adopting healthy eating practice along with a balanced diet is very important. Eating in small portions at the desired time needs to be ensured. Avoiding unhealthy food items and binge eating also need to be restrained.

The diet differs depending upon the age of individuals. Young adults might require more energy giving food as compared to the elders. Also, if one is suffering from a certain illness then they need a special diet that would contain food items which are required to help them heal and recover from their illness.

In the end we must remember the words of Robert Urich “A healthy outside starts from the inside.”
