This type of training also allows the dentist to prescribe medications such as antibiotics and sedatives. The dentist can also perform examinations, complex diagnostics, and complete x-rays. One of the main tasks of general dentistry is to help prevent these oral diseases. Education is very important and involves teaching patients proper hygiene and regular checkups.
