Take care of your grill

Maintaining your grill properly is very important if you want to enjoy the American tradition of grilling. Outdoor barbecue grills are simple gadgets and, if cared for properly, can give you years of barbecue fun.

BBQ organization

When you decide to grill, plan what foods you will serve. In addition to deciding what type of meat to grill, you should also consider what accessories to prepare for the meal. Whether you are hosting a simple family barbecue in your backyard or a special barbecue party to celebrate an important event, you need to plan ahead. There are many foods that can be served and your barbecue menu varies according to the preferences of your family, friends or guests as well as the occasion.

However, the weather is the most important element to consider when organizing a barbecue. Since you eat outside, of course, plan to have a barbecue at a time of year when the weather is likely to be appropriate. Pay attention to the weather forecast and try to reserve a backup date if the weather turns up.

You should start preparing the food for the grill in advance. Make sure to start defrosting the meat at least 12 hours before the event and then let it soak in the marinade (in your fridge) when you start cooking the accessories. Grilled menus vary considerably. When deciding which items to include on your menu, be sure to allow plenty of time for cooking. This is important even if you are hosting a simple family barbecue with grilled burgers and hot dogs served with potato salad and บาร์บิคิว.

Grill maintenance

The only maintenance your grill needs is proper cleaning. You will need the following:

Wire grill brush
Steel wool pads (those containing soap)
Washing machine liquid (mild)
Mushroom
Dry baking powder
Cooking oil spray (to spray on clean grill before use)

Use a steel grill brush (preferably brass wire) to clean all surfaces of the grill after it has cooled down. Regular brushing prevents the accumulation of food debris, which becomes extremely difficult to clean if left for too long. After cleaning all the grill surfaces, begin brushing the grain off the grill supports. Cleaning your grill grates is important because this is where you put your food to cook. Once you have removed as much burnt food as possible from the grill surfaces and grates, wash the grates with dish soap. If necessary, use the steel wool discs and rinse well to remove all traces of soap before using the grill again. You can also use dry baking soda to clean stubborn buildup from anywhere on the grill.

Never put off cleaning your grill. The only maintenance you need to do to get the most out of your grill is to clean it properly after each use. If you don't, the grill may not work in the long term.

Lack of regular cleaning is the most common cause of grill problems. If you notice that your grill is not performing as well as when you first bought it, try cleaning it thoroughly as described above before taking it in for 'repair'. In most cases, a simple cleaning will restore the grill to its original condition.
