What is Cannabinoid?

Cannabinoids are practically a scientific term designated to define any and every compound extracted from the cannabis plants. There are about 480 compounds known that occur naturally in the cannabis plants. Out of which 144 are the cannabinoids that have been isolated and recognized by the scientist all over the world. The most notable cannabinoids so far include CBD and THC. In fact, the majority of the cannabis market still revolves around CBD and THC.

Both THC and CBD are highly appreciated for their therapeutic potential. They have been used as medicine to treat several ailments and life-threatening diseases. But since our topic revolves around the types of CBD, we shall ignore THC and focus more on CBD today.

CBD: A Therapeutic Cannabinoid

CBD is one of the most popular and highly potential cannabinoid compounds we know about. It is said to have the potential to prevent, treat, and cure many ailments and diseases. Besides helping to support our healthy lifestyles, CBD also has the potential to counteract the psychoactive effects of THC. But to cut down the psychoactive effects of THC, one needs to consume CBD in larger doses.

When taken in smaller to moderate amounts, one can experience many beneficial and healing effects of CBD. There is a wide range of CBD products available in the market that rules the business. Depending on our needs, we can choose the products. All of the CBD products are made using any one of the three types of CBD. These types are

  • CBD isolate
  • Full-spectrum CBD
  • Broad-spectrum CBD

What is CBD Isolate?

In the world of CBD, you must have come across terms like full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and CBD isolates many times. Let’s try to understand each of them in detail.

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD extracted from the Hemp. It contains no other compound besides CBD. The CBD concentration in an isolate ranges near 99% and above. The naturally occurring CBD crystals are first purified to remove any other compound and then crushed into a fine powder. CBD isolate is extracted through the highest quality extraction process. But there are a few chances of the end product containing other compounds (cannabinoids) in traces.

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

Unlike CBD isolate, full-spectrum CBD carries a wide range of naturally occurring cannabinoids in it. When the CBD is extracted from the plant, it contains many other cannabinoids in smaller concentrations. This type of CBD also has some minor concentrations of THC in it.

The extracted compound is processed into something that can be safely consumed by us. The full spectrum CBD ensures that we get a healthy combination of cannabinoids that support health and alleviate ailments and diseases. Full-spectrum CBD provides higher relief from certain conditions than isolates.

What is Broad Spectrum CBD?

Broad-spectrum CBD is perfect for users who do not want THC to enter their system. It has a combination of all the other naturally occurring cannabinoids except THC. This means that you get all the health benefits that full-spectrum CBD provides without worrying about THC entering your system.

Although the extremely low THC concentration does not cause any psychoactive effects, if the user is against THC or undergoes drug tests often, he can use broad-spectrum CBD without any worries.

What type of CBD should I choose to use?

Your requirements determine the type of CBD you should use. If you are in need or are recommended to use CBD concentrates in higher doses, go for CBD isolates. The user sensitive about not using THC should use broad-spectrum CBD for it contains all the naturally occurring cannabinoids except THC. To experience better therapeutic results, especially when the user does not mind taking in the traces of THC, he/she can use full-spectrum CBD.
Note: Using broad-spectrum CBD would produce equally great results as a full spectrum. It will just not have any traces of the psychoactive compound THC.

Which of the three types of CBD between CBD isolate, full-spectrum, and the broad spectrum is better?

None of the three types of CBD is better than the other. All of them have their own pros and cons. Depending upon your requirements, it is you who determines or of CBD isolate, full-spectrum, or a broad spectrum of the scale of first, second, and third. Like people wishing to use only CBD can go for CBD isolate, the ones wishing to enjoy the entourage benefits of all the cannabinoids from Hemp can opt for the full spectrum. And the ones with a strict NO to THC can choose a broad spectrum.
