Throughout your life you must have heard of wooden guitars whether it is a classic or electrical one. Have you ever imagined how a guitar made out of concrete would sound? It is time to test the theory and get started with building guitar using concrete construction skills.

Steps to take to make your concrete Guitar:

Below are the steps you need to follow.

Get a guitar kit and create your mold:

In order to start the entire process, you will need a mold. Guitar molds are not available so you will have to create your own. To create a mold, you need to follow the given steps.

  • Get a guitar kit from the market that includes all the parts of the guitar.
  • Use the body and stick it with a hard surface. You have to cover its sides to assure that silicone will not spill out. It is better to use hot glue or other sealant for the process.
  • Spray it with mold release and add your silicon. Keep checking to assure that there are no holes.
  • Let the mold cure for a few hours and you can have a perfect silicone mold.
  • Add concrete and assure that you remove all the access. You also have to vibrate the mold to remove any air bubbles.
  • Once you notice that your concrete construction is set remove the silicone mold. If there are still any wet parts allow them to dry out.

Designing phase of your guitar:

Once you have got your concrete body of guitar it is time to design everything.

  • Using the rest of the parts from the guitar kit and start giving shape to your guitar as well as the finishing touches.
  • You can use the diamond sanding block to level the areas on your concrete construction and clear out any access.

Once your shape is done polish the wood using any polish that you like and add your finishing touches. For concrete it is better to cover it with concrete sealer so that your guitar will stay intact. Add 4 to 5 coats of concrete sealer and allow it to dry properly.

Fit the parts:

It is time to fit the parts of your guitar. You will have to drill several holes in the body. Add small wooden blocks in these holes and seal them using epoxy glue.

It will be your base for screwing the parts together. Dry fit the parts to check if they properly fit so you can make any additional adjustment for passage of wires and other items.

When you are ready to fit the parts add copper shield covers inside the holes of the body to reduce any kind of interference in the electronics. Fit all the parts and wires of your guitar. Your musical is ready to be tested.
