To do a good job in the configuration of professional stage lights, we must first understand the common light level of stage lights. This is an important link that chooses configuration correctly.

A common light level for led stage lighting

1. Face light: the light from the top of the audience to the stage is mainly used for the front lighting of the characters and the basic light dyeing of the whole stage.

2. Box on the ear: The light located on both sides of the stage and tilted on the stage is divided into upper and lower layers. It is mainly used to assist the surface light, strengthen the facial lighting, and increase the three-dimensional sense of characters and scenes.

3. column light (also known as side light) : light projected from both sides of the stage mouth, mainly used for two side lighting of figures or scenery, to increase the sense of three-dimensional, contour.

4. Top light: the light from the top of the stage to the stage is divided into one row of top light, two rows of top light, three rows of top light from front to back...... And so on, mainly used for general led stage lighting, enhance the stage illumination, and there are a lot of scenery, props fixed-point irradiation, mainly rely on the top light to solve.

5. Backlight: The light projected from the opposite direction of the stage (such as headlight, bridge light, etc.) can outline the outline of characters and scenes, enhance the sense of three-dimensional and transparency, and can also be used as a specific light source.

6. Bridge light: the light thrown to the stage at the footbridge on both sides of the stage is mainly used for auxiliary column light to enhance the three-dimensional sense. It is also used for other inconvenient directions of light position projection and can also be used as a specific light source.

7. Foot light: the light projected from the platform in front of the stage mouth to the stage, mainly assisting the surface light illumination and eliminating the shadow formed by the face and jaw of the characters exposed to high positions such as the surface light.

8, heaven and earth exhaust light: light from above and below the canopy, mainly used for illumination and color change of the canopy.

9. Flowing light: On the flowing light stand on both sides of the stage, it is mainly used to assist bridge light to supplement the light on both sides of the stage or other specific light.

10. Light chasing: the light needed from the auditorium or other positions is mainly used to track performers' performance or highlight a specific light, and is also used for the host. It is the close-up pen of stage art and plays the role of finishing point.

Studio led stage lighting TLCI level description

What is led stage lighting TLCI?

For LED and other solid-state lighting, CRI color rendering index is often unable to describe the parameters of light color perfectly. Therefore, many other parameters, such as CQS and GAI, have been proposed to reinforce CRI, but each parameter is not perfect, especially for the application of film and television lighting.

The TLCI (Television Lighting Consistency Index) was developed by Alan Roberts and has been endorsed by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). TLCI uses Macbeth color card to compare the difference between the display color of the tested light source and the standard color. The value ranges from 0 to 100. The higher the value, the better the color quality.

Level of TLCI value for led stage lighting

85 ~ 100

Great lighting quality, small color error, dimmers/lighting engineers/photo directors can be ignored without correction or just as a small adjustment.

75 ~ 85

Dimmers may need to make minor adjustments to ensure color quality, but it's easy to achieve acceptable results.

50 ~ 75

Dimmers/lighting engineers/photo directors etc. do need to make adjustments to photographic equipment or use filters to correct light quality deficiencies. Empirically, this can be adjusted to acceptable results, but it takes time.

25 to 50

The color rendering of lamps is very poor, which requires a professional dimmer/lighting engineer/photography director to make substantial adjustments, and the results may not meet the standards of film and television.

0 ~ 25

The quality of the light fixture is so poor that even if the dimmer/lighting engineer/photography director etc. take a long time to adjust the equipment or post production to improve the quality of the shot, it is difficult to achieve acceptable results.

Stage light TLCI, color temperature CCT next to the English letters on behalf of the meaning?

The preceding letters represent the classification of "color temperature" intervals.

P, M and D represent three different color temperature ranges

P: Represents the color temperature < 3400

M: Represents the color temperature of 3400 ~ 5000

D: represents the color temperature > 5000

According to different intervals, different reference criteria will be used to evaluate the color temperature of the measured light source. What is the meaning of the numbers in brackets after CCT?

The numbers in brackets represent the degree to which the light source deviates from the blackbody radiation curve.

"+" means the color is more magenta,

"-" indicates that the color is green.
