Know the importance of blood gas analyzers in laboratory settings

Posted by coherent market insights on December 30th, 2020

Blood gas analyzers are used in many settings. They can be used by law enforcement agencies to test for drugs, by security guards to test for volatile organic compounds, and even by doctors in hospitals to test for a variety of diseases. The purpose of a blood gas analyzer should not be confused with the process of analyzing the blood sample itself, however.

The prime use of blood gas analyzer is to collect blood samples from healthy people and are tested using a method developed to detect the presence of certain compound compounds. These analyzers work through the use of sensitive gases such as those that have a relatively low boiling point (arginine). The analyzer combines this information with information on temperature and other atmospheric factors, which allows it to detect the exact amount of each substance present in the sample. From this information, the tester can calculate the percentage of purity and make a determination of how much of the sample should be diluted before it is sent off to the laboratory for quality control testing.

Of all the types of blood gas analyzers, the best choice for the field is a point-of-care system. These are available in two different types: automated and manual. Automated systems are less expensive to run than manual systems, but they require regular maintenance to ensure that they are properly operating and to prevent them from damage. Maintenance-free systems use sensors to constantly monitor the environment and maintain pressure levels and the volume of the samples taken. Both of these systems provide high accuracy to allow researchers to conduct a wide range of research studies and perform a variety of functions.
