Amateurs in wine sampling think that a refrigerator is all that is needed to store wine. But those who own fully packed wine cabinets or probably custom made wine cellars understand that there are certain conditions that are prerequisite for the storage of a fine and long lasting wine. If you have interest in storing wine for long term, then you need a blend between the necessary conditions as well as a good storage structure like the sustainable bamboo wine rack in order to end up with high quality wine. Here are some tips to help you achieve the best out of your wine storage adventure.

Stability in the Storage

Wine does not appreciate fluctuations in the storage environment. For instance, temperature fluctuations can result into unnecessary chemical reactions which can alter the taste and the quality of the wine. Sudden movements or vibrations will also make the wine loss its value. For this reason, it should be stored in a stable sustainable rack far away from railways, major highways or around manufacturing plants where there can be a lot of vibrating machines.

Regulate exposure to light

When wine is exposed to light, the ultra violet rays will make the wine to age prematurely just like it does to the skin of human beings. Therefore, you should restrict exposure to sunlight as much as possible and you should also avoid leaving the lights of the cellar on when not in use.

Avoid too much moisture in the storage

There should be optimum levels of humidity within the wine storage. Too much moisture can cause the labels on the bottle to fall off. Too much humidity is also not suitable for a sustainable bamboo wine rack as it can cause it soak up with water and start to rot. Less moisture on the other hand will make corks to dry and make them shrink. This can allow air to gain access to the wine and such a contact does no good to the final quality of the wine.

Lay down bottles in the right manner

Bottle in the wine rack should not just be placed in any manner. There is a specific reason why the bottles are place in a lying position. This is to keep them moist and to prevent air from gaining access into the wine bottle. A good sustainable bamboo wine rack will enable you to lay down the wines with the labels facing up so you don’t have to disturb the wine while reading through them.
