Botox treatment is usually used for reducing wrinkles caused by age or by some other factors. Botox is actually Clostridium botulinum and it is injected into the muscle, causing relaxation of the muscle and thus reducing the wrinkles. As you know, acne is formed due to over production of sebum or oil by the sebaceous glands. This plugs the pores of the skin and become a thriving ground for the bacteria. They feed on this sebum and multiply, causing the pores to get inflamed and forming pimples. When Botox is injected in the skin, it prevents the production of sebum by blocking the chemical called Acetylcholine in the skin. It is this chemical which is responsible for producing sebum. This in turn starves the bacteria and prevents it from getting multiplied. As a result the formation of pimples and acnes is prevented.
Botox treatment for acne is available only at a few clinics and Medi spas and very little known about this treatment. Some are of the opinion that they do not cause an ant decrease in the formation of acne. So consult your doctor and discuss about it in full detail before undergoing the treatment. If you have any illness and is taking any medicines, you have to mention that too, as it may affect the treatment. You may even have to stop taking the medicine a few days before the treatment.
Botox treatment cost depends on the units used or the area on which the treatment is done. It also depends on the number of sittings required and the reputation of the doctor. If the doctor is highly reputed and well known in the Botox treatment, the price will also be higher. It is always the right decision to approach a professional as it will ensure that you get the best treatment.
