Black Widow Includes Half an Hour of Footage Shot for IMAX's Expanded Screen Ratio

While Black Widow's release may have been delayed for six months, new details about the film's planned theatrical presentation are beginning to surface. To get more news about expanded screen, you can visit boegger.net official website.

An IMAX earnings call with investors revealed that approximately 30 minutes of the upcoming Marvel Studios film will be presented in the IMAX format's signature, expanded aspect ratio. It's unclear what footage will feature the expanded shots, but the format is usually employed for action sequences and wide landscape shots to provide a more immersive experience afforded by filming with IMAX cameras.
Hollywood was been exploring using IMAX cameras for its marquee films for over a decade, with 2008's The Dark Knight featuring action sequences filmed in Chicago and Hong Kong utilizing the expanded aspect ratio. Following the film's successful reception, many major studios, including Marvel, have similarly filmed in IMAX. The wider frames natively filmed in IMAX allow up to 26% more picture than traditional filming cameras.

Originally slated for a May release, Marvel Studios announced in April that the film would be delayed to November in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic shuttering movie theaters worldwide. As theater chains reevaluate the possibility of reopening, there has been no change in Black Widow's planned release date.

Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason and Rachel Weisz. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 6.
