An IMAX earnings call with investors revealed that approximately 30 minutes of the upcoming Marvel Studios film will be presented in the IMAX format's signature, expanded aspect ratio. It's unclear what footage will feature the expanded shots, but the format is usually employed for action sequences and wide landscape shots to provide a more immersive experience afforded by filming with IMAX cameras. Originally slated for a May release, Marvel Studios announced in April that the film would be delayed to November in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic shuttering movie theaters worldwide. As theater chains reevaluate the possibility of reopening, there has been no change in Black Widow's planned release date. Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason and Rachel Weisz. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 6. Like it? Share it!More by this author |
