A condition when the intraocular pressure (eye's pressure) becomes more than the standard pressure(21 mm Hg) is known as ocular hypertension. Gonioscopy: It is performed to examine your eye's drainage angle by placing a special contact lens on the eye as it is essential to explore the angles- open, narrowed, or closed. Gonioscopy is performed to determine other conditions that might cause glaucoma.

Visual field testing:  It helps examine the peripheral (or side) vision with an automated visual field machine. It also looks at any visual field defects caused due to glaucoma. You may be prescribed for a retest if required, such as if the glaucomatous damage is low. The frequency of the test is based on the severity of the injury.

Pachymetry (or corneal thickness): An examination of the eye by an ultrasound probe to accurately determine your intraocular pressure readings. A thinner cornea can indicate falsely low-pressure readings, whereas a thick cornea can show falsely high-pressure readings.

What Can Be Done For High Eye Pressure?

There are some medical ocular hypertension treatments available, but not all might suit you best. As it is about the eyes, laser and surgical therapy are not usually recommended for treating ocular hypertension if it can be treated with medicine, such as Careprost 3ml.
