The weekend getaway of a lifetime - Pawna Lake Camping!

Posted by The Wandering Pen on January 3rd, 2021

Anyone that stays in the bustling cities of Mumbai or Pune are yearning for a weekend break to escape the concrete jungles and into nature. Welcome to the world of camping that I recently discovered, especially Pawna Lake camping. The campsites there are just by the lake and I was very excited looking at all the fun activities that most of these campsites had.

Pawna Lake is situated close to Lonavala and became the perfect place to spend a weekend camping. Surrounded by green slopes, Pawna Lake camping is a great site for a getaway with friends, family or solo. You can come here to relax, explore the site by the lakeside, take a dip in the lake, or try peddle-boating. As the sun sets, you can enjoy a bonfire along with soft music and BBQ.

My friends and I reached the campsite by afternoon. We had lunch at Lonavala on our way here. As soon as we reached, we got to enjoy a hot cup of tea and some snacks. We got our tents for the Pawna camping weekend and settled in for a bit. Soon we all went out and dived into the cool water of the Pawna Lake. We enjoyed the relaxing swim we had. We also tried kayaking here which was fun too. We got back and freshened up as the sunset. The view of the sunset over the still waters of the lake was stunning. Soon it was time for the bonfire and music. As soon as the bonfire was lit, the BBQ and the food was served. We all gathered around the bonfire and everyone shared some interesting stories. After thoroughly enjoying all the music, food and nature for company, our tired bodies slumped into our tent beds. It was time for some much needed rest and sleep.

We woke up to the chirping of birds and the beautiful sunrise. It was such a peaceful place in the morning and some of us decided to sit by the lakeside and dipped our feet in the water and simply basked in its beauty. After the previous night's experience,  we did not wish to leave this campsite or this lake. We yearned to stay here a little longer but the time had come to say goodbye to this beautiful Pawna camping experience. After freshening up we had a hearty breakfast and started packing. We did manage to squeeze in some time to play cards with our new camping friends from last night. But soon we had to leave and with heavy hearts said our goodbyes and off we were back to Mumbai. Pawna camping is a great experience and I think if you stay in Mumbai or Pune then you should definitely go for it.
