Using an MLA sample page for information

In most of the MLA format specification, a separate title page is not required. The first page of the essay is used to enter the title information. However, there are some instructors that ask for a specific MLA title page and this is when this page needs to be created. Creating a title page in the MLA format is easy and an MLA sample page for the title should be enough for you to get the required information.

In the standard MLA format (where the title page is not required), all the required information is written in the upper left corner of the first page. The information required here is your name, the name of your instructor, the course for which you are writing the essay and the date. If your instructor has specifically asked for an MLA title page, use the following step by step procedure.

1. Write the title of your paper a third down the length of the sheet.
2. Press the “enter” key two to three times and then write your name.
3. Again press the “enter” key two to three times and write the class or course information.
4. In the next line, write the name of your instructor.
5. In the next line, write the date.

Ensure that there is no bold or italic formatting done in the title page. The font should be styled as it in the rest of the paper. Use 12 size Times New Roman or Arial as the font.
