Some lines require that at least one person is 25 years of age or older in each cabin with unmarried persons under 21 years of age. The legal age to consume alcohol on board is 21 years. Cruise companies have the right to land any person who violates this policy or who buys alcohol to a person under the legal drinking age. Cruise lines have been known to cut off, for the rest of the cruise are people who have become overly drunk. These and other rules for cruise ships are clearly stated in the cruise contract.
