Cinema Studies: A Perfect Mechanism of Creativity and Exposure

Cinemas and society are interlinked and society inspires new stories for the directors as he/she advances in making a cinema. Cinema study is about the evolution of the content, the narration, the technology, and the changes in the narrative style with the changing time periods. Various leading institutions offer acting, filmmaking, film editing, and cinematography courses in India.

Cinema study is an intellectual discipline that deals with a choice of theoretical, historical, and critical ways to cinemas. It is sometimes subsumed within media studies and is often compared to television studies. Cinema studies is not much of worried with proceeding expertise in cinema production than it is with exploring the narrative, artistic, cultural, economic, and political implications of the cinema. In cinema study, the main thing is to learn about the aesthetics of the cinemas by analysis of various styles and creative indications used by various world-renowned directors from all ages.

Many directors have distinct style of their own, they are known as auteur and in cinema study we study about those directors who have given cinema a new dimension. The theory is known as auteur theory. Cinema study concentrates more on art factor than focusing on the production knowledge.

On the other hand, in context to education in Cinema, AAFT is consistently performing outstandingly amidst the other leading and established schools of filmmaking, film editing, acting, cinematography, etc. This reputed institution offers various degree and diploma programs in cinema. Along with the cinema courses, most of the institutions offer photography courses in India.

Without cinema study as subject, people would lack the knowledge to properly judge a cinema. The reviewer of film in an intellectual setting has not existed during the entire past of film. Not to be mystified with the procedural aspects of film formation, film studies exist only with the creation of film theory—which approaches film critically as an art. It’s appreciating the art in the cinema by studying various film movements which has happened all over the world such as, German expressionism, French new wave, Italian neo- realism, soviet film movement etc.
