It started in the South Bronx of New York City during 1970’s and became popular among African American youth who liked to party, in these parties DJs began transforming and breaking the popular songs which gave life to hip-hop culture. One name that is called as a “founding father of hip hop” is DJ Kool Herc.
Rap music is a way of expressing one’s feelings, thoughts and ideas in the form of a rhythmic and rhyming speech that makes a direct contact with the listener. Rap music shows the deep feelings in a vocal style in which the artist speaks lyrically with a very fast rhyme and verse on the beats. Beats are created in order to make the rap effective. The person who raps is called a rapper. The world has got many rappers who have played an important role in the revolution of music industry. The rap music also got its birth in New York City among Latino and African American streets. It requires the rapper to write his own lyrics and memorize it to work on beats.
