Take a flight to Rhodes International Airport from either Athens, Crete or Thessaloniki and then catch a cab from the airport. If you decide to travel via the city of Rhodes after trekking through the lanes and by-lanes of the town, it will take a bit longer to reach. Lindos is located on the east coast of the island of Rhodes. While you are in the town try walking around as you will be able to explore the architecture better that way.

The best way to get around a historical town is to buy a map and walk on foot. If you are brave enough, you can also try and explore the circumventing lanes lined up with whitewashed buildings. Of course, the ancient ruins of Acropolis are also an important reason why you should spend a few hours more in this medieval town.

When you are in the island of Rhodes, it goes without saying that beaches will always welcome you no matter which part of the island you are in. Hence, in Lindos too you have a main beach which lines the main square of the town as well as the St. Paul’s beach where you can lounge and relax for a while before venturing out in the sun again.

Lindos has no dearth of good accommodation. You can get a decent place to stay, depending on what your budget is. If you are ready to splurge then there are villas to greet you in. If you wish to go more reasonable in this department then you can choose from one of the studio accommodations and average beach hotels. Booking in advance may be a good idea if you are planning to travel in peak time.

Rhodos Lindos offers you a glimpse into the historical and medieval heritage of the island of Rhodes. It will take around a week to explore all that the town has to offer and if you are planning to do some island hopping and are on a tight schedule then at least give it two to three days. The weather is sunny and mild and you can get a shade in every nook and corner, should you feel like resting before taking on the next destination.
