The Bahamas is located in the Atlantic Ocean lying between the continents of South and North America and is containing 29 tiny islands, 661 cays and 2387 islets. Nassau being the capital city of The Bahamas, situated on the island of New Providence, Bimini, the island closest to USA, is known as the gateway to The Bahamas, while Andros Island is the largest one. The other inhabited islands are Abaco, Grand Bahama, Inagua, Eleuthera, Cat Island, Long Island, San Salvador Island, Acklins, Crooked Island, Exuma and Mayaguana.The most entertaining activity you can carry out in The Bahamas is getting friendly with the dolphins of the beautiful Blue Lagoon Island, which is just 20 minutes from Nassau. The island is a natural habitat of the dolphins.
