For What Reason Famous World Leaders Are A Little Bit Overrated

Precisely how the world works: it might be complicated, but it is really more at the small scale than we presume.

The recent ascension of social media to the world stage in relation to news has made us all very aware of the form of news we consume and of exactly how we prefer to move forward from that point. Many of us are indeed getting their news from social networks thanks to how quickly these are generally available there and just how they contain rich and thought-out information. However, this information often comes pre-packaged in someone else’s opinion, thus making it harder for us to make our own decisions. Therefore, many people are switching back once again to traditional news outlets, which thankfully possess some really good websites. However the question of what the news tell us still stands: is the notice that the famous leaders of today get worthwhile, or should we look into smaller issues that are simply just as pressing?

The map of world leaders is much more interesting and varied than we think. Even though the most famous world leaders have the spotlight most of the time, there are plenty of other interesting people we will not pay enough attention to. Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, is one of such people, a new leader prepared to take his place in today's world. That which we miss by not making time for smaller countries is the whole picture of the world stage, where decisions often depend on the interest of very small actors. While it might be tough to appreciate this, it may be quite helpful to understand the events of the world that appear to make little sense. On the other hand, you might see everything as a move by the most powerful nations, yet nevertheless it would be an oversimplification to assume so.

There is lots of attention that goes toward the leaders of big or important countries, and never enough that goes to people who may seem less relevant but can be a little more interesting. What gets left out, a whole lot of the time, is minorities. There are many gifted leaders who are emerging on the world stage, who are not having the attention they deserve. Young, female world leaders like Sanna Marin, as an example, are believed to represent a brand new stage in world politics, where a whole new generation is taking the lead to guide the entire world towards an exciting new era. Jacinda Ardern is by many considered an equivalent figure, having successfully navigated her country out of the current crisis. Generally speaking, modern society is much more complicated and varied than we receive the impression of, and it is only right that our leaders should reflect this varied nature.
