I’ve done it more times than I care to remember and some of the dresses I bought looked downright foolish on me. I don’t like having to make returns. Shopping is stressful enough. Who needs the additional drama? Thankfully, I don’t have those problems anymore since I learned how to shop for my body shape. Getting the perfect party dress should never be a hit-or-miss affair and it won’t be if you know what to look for. It’s easier than you might think. The most important thing to consider is color. Always select the colors that work best with your skin tone and features. Using these basic guidelines along with choosing the right colors will have you looking fab and ready to party. Straight: Little definition (less than 4 inches) between shoulders, bust, waist and hip measurements. Look for fitted sheaths and dresses with gathering and/or embroidery or small decorative elements in the upper body area.
