The technological features of Unified Communications

The inception of hi-tech and advanced devices has made the concept of unified communications a reality. No matter, how far you are from your loved ones or business associates, you can easily stay in touch with them when needed.

A key element to unified communications is the modernization of sophisticated telephone systems. The main components of a system are circuit modules in which the main unit or brain is the processor module. The complete system is built with expansion modules, 2 or 5 slot carriers, voice mail cards and backup and restores cards.  These systems now feature LCD display models or Non LCD display models with many buttons for different features.  Also, the systems’ processor can also be utilized as a stand-alone unit by itself hosting five incoming CO lines and nine extension telephone lines. On a maximum level, the system can handle 21 lines and 44 extensions with many configurations in between.

Users can use the modules to add lines and extensions to the system or other devices like voice mail, CC modems, fractional T1 units and fax machines. Such communication systems are equipped with features like Caller ID, distinctive ringing, call forwarding, call hold, call transfer, personal and system speed dialing, conference calls up to 5 parties and many more.

A truly unique and special feature for today’s busy traveler is call forwarding to a cell phone feature. With this, an incoming call can be answered by the AA (Auto Attendant) then connected to an extension user’s telephone and in turn forwarded to a remote cell phone or wherever it is programmed to go.

You can drastically cut down on the expenses involved otherwise with transferring your data center contents into a virtualized environment. Apart from saving extra expenses, virtualization proves to be of great help in storage and overall operation of data center. Virtual data centers take Storage and Virtualization to the next level by backing up and replicating important data.

There are many companies offering unified communications solutions but not all of them combine high quality products, expertise, and customer service.  As a good rule of thumb in selecting a service provider, you should seriously consider the feedback and testimonials of former or current clients. Whether you need to hire professionals to render top of the line carrier services, Data Networking, physical infrastructure, HVAC, cabling or any other services, it’s always recommended to check out the service provider before you start.
