Mediterranean Yacht Charter Services

Finding a good Mediterranean yacht charter is about two things. Finding the right boat and/or crew, and choosing the right destination. The destination is not that big an issue, since every place has the same the brilliant weather, bucket-loads of islands and warm sand beaches.

The choice of destinations includes Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Spain and the French Riviera. The choice (or choices) from amongst these destinations depends on the kind of experience the traveler has in mind. For example, Greece offers the chance to sail on the Ionian and the Aegean seas, and visit to all kinds of tourist-friendly islands from Mykonos to Santorini. charter yacht in Spain

The French Riviera, on the other hand, is known for its fabulous lifestyle at Cote d'Azur, Monaco, and Cannes. As for the boat, the choices include everything from sailing boats to motor yachts, catamarans and gullets. The boat size will determine the size of the crew it needs. Some yachts have quite ridiculous levels of luxury such as golf courses, but that is not the norm. Swimming pools are a fairly standard feature on luxury yachts, but infinity pools are not! If you hang around the harbour at somewhere like Monaco, it is great fun just to 'people watch', but at the same time it is just cool to 'yacht watch' too.

For example, a typical Mediterranean yacht charter of around 50m will have 4 to 6 cabins and can take 8 to 12 guests out to sea. It will need, on average, a crew of around 10 sailors. Payment is usually made on a weekly basis (plus expenses).

For special events, corporate getaways and large tour groups, a bigger boat will have to be chartered. For example, a group of 100 passengers would need a boat around 90-100m with 50 cabins and a crew of around 40 sailors. For those who know their bow and stern and want a small boat without a crew, a catamaran is probably the best bet.

The twin hulls of a catamaran provide stability, and the heel is much lower than with monohulls. This makes the trip a lot less tiring as passengers don't have to fight gravity so much. It's a good choice for beginner yachtsmen looking to enjoy a Mediterranean yacht charter, and involves less effort and more time spent eating, drinking and enjoying the view. There can't surely be any better way to see the Mediterranean and it's coastline than from a luxury yacht.
