In this current age of CCTV surveillance, very few people would actually be unaware of it. However, this is the current reality of the modern world as surveillance cameras are installed everywhere from hotels, airports, traffic junctions, hospitals and even railways terminals. In fact, at these strategic locations, Full HD CCTV Cameras are installed in order to make sure that every detail is captured and recorded for a perusal at a later date or during an emergency. There are two types of Full HD CCTV Cameras namely the digital variety and the analog variety. In the analog variety, the recording cannot be sent to another location without manual intervention but with the digital variety the data can be sent across to another destination without any problem. Here are two different varieties of digital Full HD CCTV Cameras.

Types of high definition surveillance cameras

When we speak of full HD network cameras, this means that there are a series of cameras in the network that are connected to it. The cameras are able to capture all the recording in a very high definition mode wherein the footage does not get grainy when zooming is done to get a better look at the images. There are two types of cameras in this category.

  • Centralized cameras – These Full HD Network Cameras tend to require a central repository namely the Network Video recorder or the NVR to record the footage collected so far. This repository manages both the audio as well as the video recording apart from handling alarm management as well. When the term central repository is used, this means that all the Full HD Network Cameras attached to the network tend to send their data in all forms to the repository at regular intervals.
  • Decentralized cameras – These full HD CCTV cameras are those which do not require a repository to send their recorded data. In fact, this is a step that is avoided since these cameras tend to have a built-in mechanism to do that. Thus, the network video recorder or NVR is an absent feature. All the data that is recorded tends to be done so on a memory stick or a card. Sometimes, there is a network attached server of NAS or even a PC wherein the data of the footage recorded gets stored.

The HD cameras for surveillance are primarily for commercial purposes and are not intended for surveillance of a house or locality.
