Firstly, Go to Settings on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad or Touch the control center and Choose a custom control. This screen recorder will be added to the control center. So, every time you slide your finger from the top right of your device to call this control center, you will see the screen recording button. To record your iOS device screen, tap on that button and you will get a three second countdown to the button icon. From that moment until you tap the button again, everything you do on your device will be recorded. When you're done, tap the button again. The resulting video is saved on your camera roll.

Alright, if you come to record a part of the screen later, macOS will stop assuming the same part. This is a great advantage over the old way of doing it, which was to record the screen with a QuickTime player. You can still do this: launch the app, choose File and New Screen Recording, and you can record all the of the screen like you did before, but you don't remember that part. Nonetheless, QuickTime Player is still good to keep it, because right now it is the only way in the software to record your Apple TV screen.
