Raising the Quality of Life with ISO Standards

Posted by Stream Line on January 23rd, 2021

The International Organization for Standardization also known as the ISO is one of the most important organizations in the world today. The short name ISO has been derived from the Greek ISOS meaning equal, due to the fact that the acronym would vary greatly across languages. ISO 45001

Keeping consistent with its name, ISO is a bridge between private and public sectors; helping businesses increase their market research and consumers decrease their worry of quality, safety and reliability of their purchased products. ISO does this by creating standards where the government has not intervened. Standards that ensure things like quality, environmental friendliness, safety, reliability, efficiency and interchangeability. It was founded February 23, 1947 with its headquarters in Switzerland and has since become the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards.

Although ISO is playing and has played an important role in everyone's lives, it often does so without detection. We are frequently unaware of the role of standards when our expectations of products and services are met, but when products are unreliable, of poor quality, incompatible with equipment we already have or do not fit, and the role of standards becomes very apparent. ISO 9001 Certificate

ISO standards vary greatly in specificity, many being very specific, as in the case of ISO metric screw threads, while others are more general standards such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001. ISO 9001 is a standard for quality management systems, while ISO 14001 is a standard for environmental management systems.

Basically these standards refer to the system a given company uses for managing production and its operations and whether or not this system enables the company to maintain a high level of quality or to be deemed environmentally friendly. ISO 45001 Certificate

"For everyone, International standards contribute to the quality of life in general by ensuring that the transport, machinery and tools we use are safe."
