Situated in Chang'an Nation, about 17.5 kilometers (12 miles) to the southern of Xian Town, The Xiangji Forehead was designed in respect of the mentioned Buddhist monk Shandao by his disciple Huai Yun after his masters loss of life. As Shandao was one of the initiators of a division of Buddhism, Genuine Area Buddhism, so Huai Yun known as the temple 'xiangji', placed perfume, to recommend his expert was sacred as the Xiangji Buddha of the Genuine Area Buddhism. Xiangji Buddha was an historical Native indian Buddha, and many Genuine Area Buddhists, who believe in the filtration of the spirit through trust, started performing actions at the temple, which led to it being regarded the middle and support of the Genuine Area sect.

In Xiangji Forehead, there are two pagodas. The bigger one, which is 33 meters(108 legs tall), is known as Shandao Pagoda, and was designed in 680, during the Tang Dynasty(618-907). The top two experiences of the pagoda have already used away in 1,300 decades, making a staying 11 experiences. The flank of Shandao Pagoda is stenciled with wonderfully etched half-naked Buddha and powerful items of program. Small sized one is situated to the eastern of the Shandao Pagoda. This more compact one was designed to respect another of Shandao's pious followers, Jing ye. The wonderful and relaxing landscapes between these two pagodas are wonderful that the well known scenery poet Wang Wei of the Tang Empire frequented the temple and remaining a poetry here.

Xiangji Forehead has been a well-known vacationer fascination since Tang Empire, in those days, emperors like Gaozong and Zhongzong, and the Empress Wu Zetian all frequented the website.
