Alternatives to a Live Viewing in a Funeral This Pandemic

We can’t do the things that we used to do these days because of the pandemic. We can’t meet our loved ones as often as before. We can’t go to our favorite restaurant or bar. It’s hard to go out because you could meet people who might inadvertently transfer the virus to you.

The same can be said with funerals. We can’t easily go to Funeral Homes in Penticton today to visit deceased loved ones. Those who die during the pandemic are usually cremated and immediately buried without a funeral service.

If you have a deceased loved one and you want others to still pay their last respects to him or her, you can try looking for other alternatives to do that. Here are a few things that you can do:

1. Hold an online funeral service.

You can talk to the people at the Penticton funeral homes if they can set up a live event. You can broadcast the funeral service on your social media page or if you want a more private event, you can set up an online meeting and then send the ID and password to the people who are invited.

2. Set up a memorial page.

You can set up a memorial page for the deceased. Create a social media account or group, which will be used by everyone to send their condolences or leave messages to the deceased. They can also post photos to serve as memorabilia. What’s great about this option is that you can revisit the page again and again in the future.

3. Hold a memorial service later.

You can choose not to have a viewing and then just hold a memorial service after the burial. You can also wait until this pandemic is over before you can hold the memorial service. This is possible with cremation. The family can hold on to the ashes and bury the remains later when all the loved ones of the deceased can already come and celebrate his or her life.

It’s hard to deal with the death of a loved one, especially during this time when you can’t receive hugs from people who might want to comfort you and your family. You can only see them from afar and hear their comforting messages over the screen.

But it’s good to have alternative ways for a funeral arrangement in BC. These are different times and it might be temporary but we still need to adjust to it.

Make sure you look for a good and experienced funeral home that will be able to provide you with the best services when it comes to a funeral arrangement in BC. You can also talk to the funeral director to find other ways to make viewing or burial safer for the people who might attend.
