Although there are various other metals used in different industries, aluminum has been capable of leaving its marks in different sectors. Whether it is the IT industry or the automobile industry, it has successfully provided to each of the industry the basic raw material. Aluminum is a great conductor for heat, electricity, and electronic transmission; it is very light and can be molded easily into desired shapes. To serve various needs of the industry, aluminum is treated in different manner. Most often used methods are the Aluminum extrusion and Aluminum die casting.

Aluminum extrusion is the process in which aluminum is molded into a single shape without any joints or cuts. It is most preferred method used for automobile and construction of buildings. However to create small and intricate parts, aluminum die casting method is the most preferred one. This process helps in making complex shapes, repeating them on mass basis without causing any error in the design or shape.

Mostly the electronic parts and aluminum parts are created using this method. Die casting helps in creating expensive parts at a very competitive price, therefore helping a manufacturer provide affordable high quality parts to their clients. Since the cost of the automobile parts and electronic parts are increasing day by day, this method has contributed in keeping the cost in control.

Under this method, aluminum is processed into shape using the cold chamber machine high pressure die casting since it has a high melting point. While choosing the die casting, every physical property of the metal is considered in it. The molten metal will be fed into the cold chamber in a proper amount which is further forced into shape using the hydraulic plunger using very high pressure. Here are some of the qualities that make aluminum die cast the right choice for industry are:

  • Its light weight in comparison to other metals such as zinc and brass, therefore easy to handle in industry.
  • In comparison to other alloys, it is quite strong therefore making it the most preferred option for creating automobile parts.
  • Its ability to resist corrosion makes it ideal for various industries.
  • No hassle in painting or polishing for a presentable appearance.
  • Heat and electricity conducting ability.

Aluminum Die casting is the best method to create small yet complex products. However, it is essential to keep the physical properties of the metal or alloy in mind while exerting pressure in the cold chamber to avoid cracks or design defects.
