So sanitation is important for preventing the common diseases of the fruit trees. If you practice sanitation regularly then you will be successful in the management of the pests. Effectiveness of Sanitation: The method of sanitation is very important for the control of common fungal diseases and some insect pests which are spread through infected parts of the plants like infected leaves, infected stems and the other infected parts of the plants like branches or twigs. Do not compost this material in your home but burn it. Since in composting process the temperatures does not reach to the height of destroying the pests. If the trees are infected with fungal diseases then you have to destroy the leaves compulsorily. Other wise the fungal disease will spread rapidly. If you want to convert these parts of the plant into compost then give it to the municipal corporations to perform the process of hot composting which will kill majority of pests and insects present in those infected parts of the plant. Note that the fruits that are fallen should be destroyed as soon as possible but if in this case the imperfect fruit on the trees can be still eaten.
